The Vermilion County Auditor has many duties and responsibilities.

The Auditor is responsible for maintaining a centralized accounting system that is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

The Auditor fulfills county and state statutory duties – including internal audit of the Vermilion County’s financial transactions, generates weekly, monthly and yearly accounting reports.

The Auditor’s office audits all claims and pays the claims via accounts payable. The Auditor recommends to the County Board the payment or rejection of all claims.
